Radda centre demolition: Probe into alleged MP involvement

Bangla Press Desk: An investigation is underway into the alleged involvement of a lawmaker in the demolition of the Radda MCH-FP Centre, a maternal and child health centre in the capital’s Mirpur, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has said.

He said whoever is involved, strict action will be taken against them, and such action is already being taken.

The Home Minister made the remarks at a press briefing on Wednesday after a law-and-order meeting on the upcoming Durga Puja at the meeting room of the Home Ministry at the Secretariat.

Salahuddin Ahmed said an impartial investigation was underway into the Radda incident.

A police officer has already been withdrawn in connection with the incident, and departmental action is being taken against him.

“Those who were present at the scene as perpetrators may have political affiliations. But that will not be taken into consideration,” he said.

He added that those who were present at the scene had been arrested.
