Bangla Press Desk: Education Minister Dr. A.N.M. Ehsanul Haque Milan has announced an initiative to hold re-examinations within 15 days of the result publication for SSC students who have failed in a maximum of two subjects. He stated that based on the results of these re-examinations, it would be determined whether the students would remain in the general education stream or be transferred to technical and vocational education.
The Education Minister made these remarks on Tuesday (October 13) afternoon while inaugurating the orientation training course for the 49th BCS (General Education) cadre officers at the auditorium of the Rural Development Academy in Bogura.
The Minister observed that there has been a moral degradation in the country. He emphasized that initiatives to reverse this decline must begin with the current generation to prevent its recurrence in the future. For this reason, the Prime Minister has prioritized subjects such as culture, sports, ethics, and "Learning with Happiness," starting from the fourth grade.
Addressing the issue of dropouts and students who failed, the Education Minister noted that while those who passed have succeeded, priority must be given to those who dropped out or failed. He mentioned that plans are being formulated to revitalize these students and bring them back into the mainstream education system.
Outlining the new plan for the SSC examination, the Education Minister said, "Regarding the SSC, our plan is to re-examine students who fail in up to two subjects within 15 days of the result publication. We will not allow the stigma of failure to persist year after year. Their continuation in the general education stream will depend on the results of this re-examination. If they do not succeed there, we will transition them to technical or vocational education."
