Reliable Bangladesh election information to be available on TikTok

Bangla Press Desk:  Ahead of the 13th national parliamentary election, TikTok has launched an in-app election information hub, known as the “Election Center,” in partnership with the Election Commission (EC). 

Through this feature, voters will be able to easily access official and reliable information related to the electoral process, voting procedures, and other election-related matters.

TikTok authorities shared this information at a press conference held at a hotel in the capital on Tuesday.

According to TikTok, the platform has gained experience working on more than 200 elections worldwide since 2020. The initiative has been taken primarily to curb misinformation and to raise voter awareness.

The Election Center will also provide guidance on how to cast votes correctly, along with simple ways to identify fake news and rumors. Election-related videos will carry special tags that will allow users to directly access the information hub.

Through the Election Center, users will receive direct links to the official website of the Election Commission, enabling them to verify information directly from primary and authoritative sources.
