Reza Kibria joins BNP, intends to contest from Habiganj-1
Bangla Press Desk: Reza Kibria has joined the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). He intends to contest the upcoming national parliamentary election from the Habiganj-1 (Nabiganj-Bahubal) constituency under the BNP’s “sheaf of paddy” symbol.
He confirmed this to journalists on Wednesday (November 5).
Reza Kibria, the son of former Finance Minister Shah AMS Kibria, previously ran as a candidate of the Jatiya Oikya Front in the 2018 national election from the same constituency — also under the BNP’s “sheaf of paddy” symbol.
Meanwhile, the BNP has yet to nominate a candidate for the Habiganj-1 seat, which remains vacant.
Reza Kibria has previously served as the General Secretary of Gono Forum and as the founding convener of Gono Adhikar Parishad as well as its breakaway faction, the Amjanata Dal.
