Sarjis Alam to contest from Panchagarh-1
Bangla Press Desk: National Citizen Party (NCP) has announced its first preliminary list of candidates for the upcoming 13th parliamentary elections.
Party’s Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain announced the names of those who have been initially nominated at a press conference held at the party’s temporary office in Bangla Motor, Dhaka on Wednesday (10 December) at 11am.
According to the announcement, Sarjis Alam, the party’s chief organiser for the northern region, will contest from Panchagarh-1 Constituency.
Sarjis Alam bought his nomination form from the NCP office in Bangla Motor on 16 November. The Panchagarh-1 Constituency comprises Sadar, Tetulia, and Atwari upazilas, excluding parts of Boda municipality.
Earlier, on 3 November, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) announced its preliminary candidate list for the same constituency. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir indicated that Barrister Muhammad Nawshad Zamir would receive the party’s initial nomination for Panchagarh-1.
