Scaloni does not want to continue as Argentina's coach; here are the three reasons why.

Bangla Press Desk: Lionel Scaloni's future as the head coach of the Argentina national team is currently uncertain. With just over three months remaining on his contract, the prospect of a renewal has become complicated.
Journalist Gustavo Yarroch, speaking on the Radio La Red program *Un Buen Momento*, reported that the Argentine Football Association (AFA) clearly wants Scaloni to remain in charge and is keen to offer him a new contract. However, three specific factors are complicating the situation—factors that have also left the World Cup-winning coach doubtful about his future in Argentina.
**Eight Years of Fatigue**
The first reason is both sporting and psychological in nature. Scaloni is well aware that the team needs to be rebuilt for the upcoming cycle and that changes must be introduced gradually.
After an arduous yet successful eight-year tenure, the coach is questioning whether he still possesses the energy, desire, and motivation required to spearhead such a massive project—one that demands his undivided attention on a daily basis.
**AFA’s Outstanding Financial Dues**
An off-field issue has also caused unease. Reports indicate that the AFA has yet to pay a significant portion of the bonuses owed to the coaching staff and players.
Many within the national team camp find this situation baffling, and it has sparked resentment.
Argentina has long since moved past its days of financial hardship; indeed, their revenue has surged thanks to a string of successes since 2021. Consequently, the staff is dissatisfied that payments remain outstanding at a time when the association is financially robust.
**Dissatisfaction with Friendly Match Opponents**
The third issue concerns logistics and the quality of opponents selected for friendly matches—a grievance the coach has voiced since before the World Cup. Scaloni has consistently maintained that he wants to face strong, competitive teams.
However, the AFA has frequently failed to secure such opponents, often opting for comparatively weaker teams instead.
Compounding this is a recent lack of coordination; the AFA had promised to announce the opponents for the FIFA international window scheduled for the end of this month. This announcement was supposed to be made at the start of the week, but it keeps getting delayed.
Adding to the concern is the fact that the teams being considered for this tour fall far short of the international standard desired by the coach. Source: jugantor
