Bangla Press Desk: Several people, including a teenage boy and a newly married couple, have gone missing following the devastating fire that broke out at a readymade garment factory and chemical warehouse in Shialbari area of the capital’s Mirpur on Tuesday.
The missing include Mohammad Alim, 13, son of Nur Islam, who worked as a helper at the garment factory “Anwar Fashion.” Alim lived with his mother and two brothers at a house on Road No. 25 in Rupnagar Residential Area, said Mitu Begum, a neighbour of the deceased.
Alo and her husband Joy, who worked at a garment factory adjacent to the chemical warehouse, also remain missing since the fire.
Alo’s father was seen weeping while holding a photo of the newly married couple. “My daughter and son-in-law have not been found,” he said before breaking down in tears.
The couple’s relative Mohammad Hasan told the Daily Sun in tears, “We don’t know if they are alive or not.”
