Sreemoyee shares her regrets about marrying a man 27 years older

Bangla Press Desk:  Tollywood comedian Kanchan Mullick married actress Sreemoyee Chattoraj for the third time in 2024. They had their legal marriage in February, followed by a traditional wedding ceremony in March. In November of the same year, Sreemoyee gave birth to their first child, making Kanchan a father to a daughter. The couple have since welcomed their second child, a son named Krishvi.

The celebrity couple have repeatedly faced trolling over their age difference. At times, they have remained silent, while on other occasions they have responded sharply to the trolls.

Sreemoyee had earlier said in an interview that she was sometimes surprised when Kanchan’s friends from the industry joked about his multiple marriages in front of her. She also questioned the language and taste of such jokes.

However, Sreemoyee’s latest anger on the show ‘Radhuni Na Kaduni’ may have been part of the programme’s playful banter. A promo shared on Sony Aath’s social media page shows Sreemoyee Chattoraj becoming upset when RJ Sayan jokes about Kanchan and his wife. She is seen sternly warning Sayan not to make such comments again.

Kanchan Mullick and Sreemoyee Chattoraj are currently appearing together on Sony Aath’s non-fiction show ‘Radhuni Na Kaduni’. The programme also features several well-known Tollywood personalities, including Shyamoupti, Darshana, Rahul, RJ Sayan and Emon.

In the promo, Sayan is heard telling Saurav, “Learn from Kanchanda…” Sreemoyee immediately interrupts him, asking, “What are you trying to say?” The actress is seen wearing a white outfit with a colourful bird drawn near the chest. Referring to the design, Sayan jokes, “You really like your parrot, don’t you?”

Sreemoyee responds jokingly, “Why are you keeping an eye on my parrot? There’s a fair-coloured bird (Shyamoupti) standing beside you. But the way the sister-in-law has become a parrot, I’ll feed you chilli later.” Kanchan then joins in and, pointing at himself, says, “You only noticed the parrot, but didn’t notice the Ata tree.”

Amid the laughter and jokes, however, Sreemoyee suddenly becomes serious. She tells Sayan, “Let me tell you one more thing—I will not tolerate any kind of personal attack involving Kanchan’s wife. And you are his friend. I’m saying this very seriously. I’m not joking around.”

As Sreemoyee makes the serious remark, the smiles on everyone’s faces quickly disappear.
