Swapon Named Political Adviser to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman

Bangla Press Desk:  Former information minister Zahir Uddin Swapon has been appointed as the political adviser to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

The Cabinet Division issued a gazette notification in this regard on Saturday.During his stay in the office of the political adviser, Swapon will serve in the rank and status of a cabinet minister and enjoy similar financial and other benefits, the notification read.

The appointment would come into immediate effect, the notification, signed by Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Ghani, added.

Earlier, on Friday, the Cabinet Division announced that Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) Chairman Andaleeve Rahman Partho would replace Zahir Uddin Swapon as the information minister, while Zahir Uddin Swapon would be included in the PM’s advisory council.
