Syed Enayet takes oath as permanent judge of HC
Bangla Press Desk: Justice Syed Enayet Hossain took oath as a permanent judge of the High Court on Tuesday.
Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed administered the oath at the Chief Justice’s private chamber in the Supreme Court.
The ceremony was conducted by the Registrar General of Bangladesh Supreme Court Muhammad Habibur Rahman Siddiqui. Judges of the Appellate Division, the Attorney General, General Secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association, Secretary of the Bar Council and officials of the Supreme Court Registry were present at the time.
On 11 November, 22 additional judges of the High Court were appointed as permanent judges. The Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry issued a gazette notification formalising their appointments.
Of the 22, a swearing-in ceremony for 21 judges was held on 12 November but Justice Syed Enayet Hossain could not take the oath then due to his illness.
