Tarique Rahman a messenger of humanity: Rizvi

Bangla Press Desk:  BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Tuesday termed the party’s acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, a messenger of humanity for his philanthropic work in extending financial support to oppressed and helpless people across the country.

Rizvi made the remarks in Bogura while addressing a free medical camp organised by Amra BNP Poribar to mark the birthday of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman.

Wheelchairs were distributed among the physically challenged people and seeds, fertiliser and agricultural equipment among the local farmers on behalf of Tarique Rahman, chief patron of the Amra BNP Poribar during the programme.

He also conveyed Tarique Rahman’s instruction to the party’s leaders and activists not to celebrate his birthday by cutting cakes or holding any event elsewhere in the country.

Rizvi also blamed deposed former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for spending Tk8,000 crore to stage the 12th Parliamentary Election in the dark of night instead of the daylight.

The then administrative officials pocketed Tk3,000 crore of the total amount to make the mission a success, said the BNP leader.

Accusing Sheikh Hasina of turning the country into a safe haven for the pro-Awami League “robbers, bandits, monsters and demons,” he said that such evil forces have rendered all state institutions dysfunctional and unable to serve the people’s interests.

Claiming that those who betray their country and their people ultimately face devastating consequences, he said that the authenticity of the natural punishment has been proved through yesterday’s verdict.

Amra BNP Poribar Convener Atikur Rahman Ruman presided over the programme, where free treatment was provided to patients with eye and heart ailments.
