Bangla Press Desk: The body of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has been taken to her son Tarique Rahman’s residence in Gulshan 2, Dhaka in a flag-draped vehicle.
Family members, party leaders and activists have gathered at the residence to pay their final respects. Tarique Rahman was seen sitting beside his mother’s coffin, reciting verses from the Holy Quran.
At around 9:17am on Wednesday, Khaleda Zia’s body, wrapped in the national flag of Bangladesh, was taken from Evercare Hospital towards Gulshan.
She was accompanied by her granddaughter Zaima Rahman and other family members, while senior BNP leaders and activists were also present.
The funeral prayers of the uncompromising leader will take place at 2pm after Zuhr on Wednesday, 31 December, at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital.
