Tarique Rahman starts for 300-feet road

Bangla Press Desk:  BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has started for the 300-feet road after reaching Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka.

He started for the 300-feet road by a red bus bearing the slogan ‘Bangladesh First’.

He was seen waving his hands towards the crowds from the bus.

Earlier, a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BBC202 (BG202) carrying Tarique Rahman and his family members arrived at the HSIA at 11:44am on Thursday (25 December).

Tarique Rahman and his family members were warmly received at the airport’s VIP lounge named ‘Rajnigandha’.

BNP Standing Committee members led by their Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir received Tarique, his wife Zobaida Rahman and their daughter Zaima Rahman and other relatives including his aunt with a bouquet of flowers.

They shook hands with their party supremo who has returned to the country ending his 6,314 days of exile life.

The aircraft carrying BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman departed Sylhet for Dhaka at 11:04am on the day.

Earlier, the aircraft arrived at Sylhet Osmani International Airport at 9:55am after departing from London, United Kingdom, and made a brief stopover there.

Tarique will address a rally in the 300-feet road area of Purbachal in the capital where leaders and activists of BNP and people from different parts of the country gathered to welcome him warmly. 

Later, he will proceed to the Evercare Hospital in the capital’s Bashundhara Residential Area to see his ailing mother Begum Khaleda Zia who has been receiving treatment there since 23 November.
