Tarique Rahman thanks global well-wishers for support as Khaleda Zia’s health remains critical

Bangla Press Desk:   BNP acting chairperson Tarique Rahman has expressed “profound thanks” to national and international well-wishers for their concern over the deteriorating health of Begum Khaleda Zia, the party’s chairperson and a former prime minister of Bangladesh.

In a statement posted on Facebook, Rahman said the “remarkable outpouring of support” from world leaders, diplomats, political figures, and ordinary citizens had been a source of strength for the Zia family at what he described as a “difficult moment.”

“On behalf of the Zia family and BNP, I want to take a moment to give our most profound thanks for the remarkable outpouring of support for Begum Khaleda Zia’s recovery,” he wrote. “The widespread expressions of concern from leaders, diplomats, and friends across the world, as well as the overwhelming love and prayers from the people of Bangladesh, have been incredible.”

Rahman added that the unity and compassion shown toward the ailing former premier had deeply moved the family as they continued to hope for her recovery. “We continue to pray for her recovery and appreciate the unity, compassion, and solidarity shown during this difficult moment,” he said.
