Temperature in Panchagarh has dropped to 17 degrees; the chill is intensifying.
Bangla Press Desk: Daytime and nighttime temperatures have begun to gradually decline in Panchagarh, a northern border district.
While temperatures have fluctuated between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius over the past few days, a low of 17 degrees Celsius was recorded today.
This temperature was logged at the Tetulia Weather Observatory at 9:00 AM on Sunday.
Previously, at the same time yesterday, Saturday, the minimum temperature recorded was 17.7 degrees Celsius. On that day, the maximum daytime temperature in Panchagarh reached 31.8 degrees Celsius.
From late night until dawn, dense fog has been observed across various parts of the district. By early morning, roads, highways, and open fields are becoming blanketed in fog, forcing vehicles to keep their headlights on while traveling.
Locals report that the chill begins to set in shortly after sunset. In the early morning, the combination of fog and a cold breeze makes the winter-like conditions even more pronounced. However, the chill subsides during the day when the sun comes out.
Jitendranath Roy, the acting officer-in-charge of the Tetulia Weather Observatory, stated that temperatures are gradually dropping, and the occurrence of fog during the night and early morning hours is on the rise.
While the days remain relatively warm, the nights and early morning hours are turning cold. Temperatures are expected to fall further in the coming days, likely intensifying the winter-like conditions.
