The Bangladesh-India meeting concludes today.
Bangla Press Desk: The 16th meeting of the Bangladesh-India Joint Working Group on Trade concludes today. Held in New Delhi, the meeting is expected to address various aspects of bilateral trade, including trade barriers, anti-dumping duties on jute products, and issues related to land ports.
A 10-member government delegation, led by Ayesha Akter, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, is participating in the meeting; the team departed for New Delhi last Wednesday.
Key agenda items reportedly include discussions on anti-dumping duties on Bangladeshi jute products, rail-based freight transport, and the seamless movement of goods between the two countries. Non-tariff barriers—a major impediment to bilateral trade—are also expected to be discussed.
