The charges on which singer Nobel was arrested

Bangla Press Desk:   Popular and critically acclaimed musician Mainul Ahsan Noble has been arrested again. He was arrested on charges of harassing a woman and attempting to make an objectionable picture by holding her captive under the pretext of marriage.DMP's Demra Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Murad Hossain confirmed the arrest of the controversial musician.

Demra Police Station arrested him from Battala area under Siddirganj Police Station in Narayanganj at around 12:30 pm on Monday (February 23). He is currently being held in police custody, police said.

Murad Hossain said that there is a case against Nobel for allegedly harassing a woman by holding her captive under the pretext of marriage. In that case, an arrest warrant was issued against him by the court, and he was arrested on the basis of that warrant.The victim filed the case on August 13, 2025. The police investigation agency PBI was given the responsibility of investigating the incident. After the investigation, the PBI submitted a report to the court on February 2 of this year and on the same day, the court issued a warrant against Nobel and four others.

According to the case statement, the victim alleged that Nobel used to take secret photos of her at different times and use them to blackmail her. The complaint also states that at one stage, she was engaged to Nobel for marriage through her family. However, when Nobel pressured her for physical relations, she did not consent to it. Later, Nobel intimidated her by showing her the secret photos and extorted more than 2 million taka.

Earlier, the victim's lawyer Sajidul Islam confirmed to the media that an arrest warrant had been issued. After hearing the case filed on multiple charges including embezzlement and fraud, the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Raju Ahmed issued an arrest warrant against Nobel on February 2 of this year.
