Bangla Press Desk: South Indian actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu is set to mark two decades in the entertainment industry next year. However, at one point in her career, she had decided to quit acting. She made this decision primarily due to the physical and mental challenges she faced after being diagnosed with myositis.
Recently, in a conversation with *The Hollywood Reporter*, Samantha opened up about that period. She shared that after taking a year-long break, she began considering doing something other than acting. Following medical advice, she invested in various businesses while taking time to focus on her health; at one stage, she even described herself as a "serial entrepreneur."
Samantha mentioned that she was scheduled to shoot for *Citadel* at the time, but her illness made the task difficult. Not wanting to keep the entire film crew waiting or waste others' time, she decided to produce the movie *Maa Inti Bangaram* instead of acting in it; she preferred to stay behind the scenes rather than face the camera.
However, Raj Nidimoru—her current husband—did not let her step away from her career. Samantha revealed that Raj had immense faith in her, and his presence on set gave her renewed courage. She had even gone so far as to email the *Citadel* team stating she would quit the project, yet they never lost faith in her.
Samantha also noted that when Sai Pallavi declined the role in *Maa Inti Bangaram*, she eventually stepped in to do it herself. She decided to work on the film because she believed the story had great potential and deserved to be brought to the screen.
In 2022, Samantha announced that she had been diagnosed with myositis, an autoimmune disease that causes muscle weakness. While undergoing hospital treatment, she shared the news of her illness and stated that doctors were optimistic about her full recovery.
Last December, Samantha married Raj Nidimoru in the presence of close family and friends. — NDTV
