Three killed in Sirajganj road accident

Bangla Press Desk: Three passengers of a CNG-run auto-rickshaw were killed and two others seriously injured after a passenger bus crushed the vehicle in Solanga area of Sirajganj last evening.The accident occurred around 7 pm on Tuesday in front of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-12 headquarters at Charia under Solanga Police Station on the Dhaka-Rajshahi highway in Ullapara upazila, reports BSS.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Confirming the matter to BSS, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Solanga Police Station Md Aslam Ali said the CNG-run auto-rickshaw was heading towards Sirajganj town from Solanga carrying passengers. When the vehicle reached the area in front of the RAB-12 headquarters, a Rajshahi-bound passenger bus coming from the opposite direction ran over the auto-rickshaw, leaving three passengers dead on the spot, he said.

The injured were rescued and sent to hospital for treatment.

Police are trying to identify the deceased and injured persons, the OC added.
