Three More Deaths Reported Amid Measles Outbreak

The latest fatalities pushed the cumulative death toll from both confirmed measles and related symptoms to 918 since March 15.
The figures were revealed in the daily bulletin issued by Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Out of the total fatalities recorded since mid-March, 819 patients died with measles symptoms, while 99 deaths were officially confirmed as measles.
During the last 24-hour period, although no confirmed measles deaths occurred, 59 new patients were laboratory-confirmed with the disease, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 17,989 out of 144,780 total symptomatic cases recorded so far across various districts.
According to the bulletin, of the three victims who died with measles symptoms, one was from Dhaka division, while the remaining two were from Sylhet division. Currently, out of 126,289 hospitalised symptomatic patients, 121,880 have successfully recovered and been discharged from medical centers.
In addition to the measles crisis, the country is also battling a severe dengue outbreak, with 753 new hospitalisations and three deaths reported in the last 24 hours alone.
This latest alarming casualty count brings the total number of dengue-related fatalities to 74 since January 1, 2026. The cumulative number of dengue hospitalisations across the entire country has now reached 25,601.
