Two colleges named after Shaheed Zia and Begum Khaleda
BanglaPress Desk: Two colleges in Dhaka and Feni have been renamed after martyred President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. At the same time, a decision has been taken to change the names of two more colleges in Tangail and Rajshahi.
This information was given in a notification issued by the College Inspection Office of the National University on Monday (February 2) under the direction of the Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education.
The notification signed by College Inspector (Acting) Nazim Uddin Ahmed said that the names of four affiliated private colleges have been changed in light of the directive of the Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education dated December 29 last year.
According to the notification, the name of Pallabi Women's Degree College in Mirpur, Dhaka has been changed to Shaheed Zia Women's College. The new name of Fulgazi Women's College in Feni has been Begum Khaleda Zia Women's College.
In addition, the name of Basail Degree College in Tangail has been changed to Basail Emdad Hamida College and Saleha-Imarat Degree College in Bagmara, Rajshahi has been renamed Sankoya College.
The notification has requested all affiliated educational institutions and departments concerned to implement this decision immediately. Source: Jugantar
