Two Dead After CNG Auto-Rickshaw Crashes Into Stationary Truck in Sirajganj
Bangla Press Desk: A CNG-run auto-rickshaw crashed into the back of a truck parked beside a road in Sirajganj early Friday, leaving two people dead and another injured.
The accident occurred at around 5am in the Bottola area of Shialkol Union on the Sirajganj–Nalka regional highway in Sadar upazila.The deceased were identified as CNG driver Ashik, 35, of Kamarkhand upazila, and passenger Thakur Haldar, 70, of Raiganj upazila. Thakur's son, Bishnu Haldar, was injured and admitted to Sirajganj Medical College Hospital.According to relatives and local residents, Thakur and his son had left home carrying fishing nets and hired the autorickshaw from Bhadra Ghat Bazar in Kamarkhand for Sirajganj town.
The vehicle reportedly lost control near Bottola and rammed into the parked truck, leaving it badly mangled. Ashik and Thakur died on the spot.
Sirajganj Sadar Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Shafiqul Islam said, “The victims’ relatives had taken the bodies home before police arrived at the scene. The injured, Bishnu Haldar, has been admitted to Sirajganj Medical College Hospital.”
