Bangla Press Desk: The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested thirteen leaders and activists of the banned Awami League, including two former lawmakers, under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
The arrests were made during the drives carried out in different parts of the capital over the past 24 hours.
Among the arrestees are former Brahmanbaria-5 constituency MP Faizur Rahman Badal and former reserved women’s seat-324 lawmaker Tamanna Nusrat Bubly.
Confirming the matter, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Media and Public Relations Division) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Muhammad Talebur Rahman, said that based on specific allegations and intelligence operations, the DB has arrested 13 leaders and activists of the banned Awami League, including two former MPs, under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
