Bangla Press Desk: Two passengers of a CNG-run auto-rickshaw were killed when a truck rammed into it in Kaliganj upazila of Gazipur last night.
Three members of a family were also seriously injured in the accident.
The collision occurred around 9:00am in the Deopara Chattar area on the Tongi-Ghorashal bypass road.
Police said the identities of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately. The injured were identified as Hafizur, 40, his wife Salma Begum, 35, and their four-year-old son Tamim.
Eyewitnesses said a Narsingdi-bound autorickshaw was hit by a truck coming from the opposite direction, leaving two passengers dead on the spot.
Locals rescued the three injured family members and rushed them to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex.
Inspector Ashraful Islam of Kaliganj Police Station said, "Two people died in the accident. Efforts are underway to identify the deceased. The injured are being treated at the hospital."
