Two members of an inter-district theft gang arrested in Noakhali, along with two stolen motorcycles

Gias Roni Noakhali Correspondent: Police have recovered two stolen motorcycles, including the motorcycle of bdnews district correspondent Abu Naser Manjur in Noakhali. Two members of an inter-district motorcycle theft gang have been arrested.
They are Md. Faisal (35), son of Miraj Uddin of Shunyer Char area of ​​Hatia upazila of the district, and Jahangir Alam (32), son of Rafiq Ullah of Char Alauddin of Subornachar upazila.
The two were arrested from the Kanchan Member pool area of ​​Sadar upazila on Friday night, said Sudharam Model Police Station OC Md. Nazrul Islam.
Police said that on July 12, around 10 pm, the motorcycle of bdnews and Independent Television reporter Abu Naser Manjur was stolen from the old bus stand area of ​​Noakhali district town. The next day, he filed a written complaint with the police station about the incident. Two months ago, a motorcycle belonging to another youth named Joydev was stolen from Sonapur. On Friday, a member of the gang of thieves, Faisal, promised to return Joydev's motorcycle and stole 10,000 taka from him on his bKash account. After receiving the money, Faisal delayed returning the motorcycle.
At one point, Joydev and his friends tricked Faisal and Jahangir into giving them more money and informed the police. At that time, the police led by SI Fakhrul Islam of Sudharam Model Police Station conducted a raid and first recovered Abu Naser Manzur's motorcycle from Faisal and Jahangir. According to the information given by them at night, Joydev's motorcycle was also recovered.
Sudharam Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Nazrul Islam said that the arrested Faisal and Jahangir are active members of an inter-district motorcycle theft gang. This gang has been stealing motorcycles from one district for a long time and then smuggling them to another district. The police suspect that they have stolen several more motorcycles from Noakhali in the last few days.
A drive is underway to arrest the remaining members of the gang. They will be produced before the court on Saturday after being arrested in two cases filed in this incident.
