Bangla Press Desk: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced a temporary suspension of both tourist and work visas for citizens of nine countries including Bangladesh. The directive will come into effect in January 2026.
In addition, citizens of these nine countries seeking entry for business purposes will also fall under the scope of the ban.
According to the country’s immigration notice, the affected nations are: Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen, Somalia, Lebanon, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Sudan, and Uganda.
The UAE has cited security concerns, geopolitical relations, and global health risks such as the COVID-19 pandemic as reasons behind the restrictions, though the government has not disclosed further details.
