Veteran actor Nana Patekar is no more.
Bangla Press Desk: Renowned Indian actor and filmmaker Nana Patekar has passed away. He breathed his last at his residence in Goa after suffering a heart attack. He was 75 years old.
Hospital sources stated that he was declared dead at 5:20 AM on Thursday.
Doctors attempted to revive him for approximately 45 minutes after he was brought to the hospital, but there was no response.
A three-time National Film Award winner, Nana Patekar earned immense acclaim for his performances in popular films such as *Natsamrat*, *Wajood*, *Parinda*, *Ab Tak Chhappan*, and *Yashwant*.
He made his Bollywood debut in 1978 with the film *Gaman*. In the early 2000s, he garnered widespread praise for roles in movies like *Shakti: The Power* (2002), *Ab Tak Chhappan* (2004), *Apaharan* (2005), and *Taxi No. 9211* (2006). He also gained immense popularity for playing the gangster 'Uday Shetty' in the comedy film *Welcome* (2007) and its sequel *Welcome Back* (2015).
The actor also played a supporting role in the comedy-thriller *Housefull 5*.
Nana Patekar also acted in the 2010 political thriller *Raajneeti*. For this film, he received his fifth nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor.
Subsequently, in 2016, he won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for his outstanding performance in the Marathi film *Natsamrat*.
In addition to acting, Nana Patekar was also known as a playback singer in films such as *Yashwant* (1997), *Wajood* (1998), and *Aanch* (2003).
