Bangla Press Desk: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman said on Wednesday his party would not accept a “name-only” election like in the past and demanded a free and fair national election acceptable to all.
“We do not want, nor will we accept, a rigged election like in the past. We want a fair and credible election that ensures equal opportunity for all,” he said while addressing a rally in Beanibazar upazila of Sylhet as the chief guest.
The event was presided over by Beanibazar Jamaat Ameer Maulana Faizul Islam.
“We want no premature delivery. We want a strong democracy,” Shafiqur Rahman added, warning that the use of black money and political favouritism would not be tolerated.
