Bangla Press Desk:  The whole country is mourning the devastating Milestone School & College air crash that took place on Monday. And a day after the tragic fighter jet crash that claimed the lives of students, Bangladesh and Pakistan are playing the second T20I at th Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium with heavy hearts. "We all know that what happened yesterday was not suitable for us. It's not easy to accept that. We're playing today with heavy hearts. I mean, you know that I'm a parent; I know the feelings. And definitely they feel very sad, and they are too much emotional at the moment. So all we know is we can pray at the moment," Bangladesh captain Litton said during the toss. Pakistan skipper Salman Agha echoed Litton's words. "Tragic events yesterday. It's a very, very sad incident. And my heart and my prayers go out to them, and we, as a nation and as PCB, stand with that," Agha said.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced that National Mourning Day, which is being observed today, will be marked with poignant tributes at the ground. A minute’s silence was held before the match, both teams and officials wearing black armbands, and there is no music played throughout the evening as a mark of respect. The national flag is flying at half-mast across all BCB venues, including the SBNCS. This article was originally published on Daily Sun. [Bangla Press is a global platform for free thought.
