What has emerged regarding the Saturday holiday in educational institutions
Bangla Press Desk: In observance of the Sharadiya Durga Puja, all administrative offices at educational institutions will remain open this coming Saturday, October 17. While classes will be suspended on that day, essential administrative tasks for students will continue. Instructions to this effect have been issued, as confirmed on Wednesday by sources within the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education.
Officials stated that classes will conclude on Thursday, October 15, marking the beginning of the holiday period for educational institutions. However, the offices of the heads of these institutions will remain open, and administrative operations will continue.
They further noted that this decision aligns with directives from the Ministry of Public Administration, which mandate that offices remain open on October 17. Regarding classes, the Ministry of Education’s annual holiday schedule remains in effect, which stipulates that classes conclude on October 15, followed by the commencement of the holidays.
Even during the holiday period, students may attend to certain urgent matters on Saturday—such as completing forms—at the offices of the heads of their respective institutions.
Previously, a directive was issued via a letter from the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE), specifying that all education-related offices are to remain open on Saturday, October 17.
