Lawsuit filed against Al Jazeera in USA

Staff Reporter: Bangabandhu Parishad USA filed a lawsuit in the US court in Michigan on February 23, seeking compensation of $ 500 million dollar for tarnishing the image of Bangladesh at home and abroad in a documentary titled ‘All the Prime Minister’s Men’ on Qatar-based Al Jazeera. Five people, including Al Jazeera TV authorities, have been charged in the case. The video of “All the Prime Minister’s Men” aired on Al Jazeera has also been requested to be withdrawn immediately from Facebook and YouTube.
President of United States Bangabandhu Parishad Dr Mohammad Rabbi Alam said this at a press conference in Jackson Heights, New York on Monday evening. He said the lawsuit was filed in a U.S. state court in Michigan. The five plaintiffs in the case are Dr Rabbi Alam, Sher Alam, Rizvi Alam, Bangabandhu Parishad and Bangabandhu Commission.
The defendants in the case are Al-Jazeera (English), Journalist Konak Sarwar, Ilias Hossain, Delwar Hossain, Zulkar Nain Sayer, David Bergman and Al-Jazeera Media Network.
According to the lawsuit, the defendants conspired to publish a documentary on the Qatar-based Al Jazeera on the night of February 1, entitled “All the Prime Minister’s Men.” It is spread through various means of social communication. This activity is malicious. The plaintiff has been and is being harmed by this, noting that a court order has been sought for the immediate withdrawal of the documentary. Defendants have also been asked to pay $ 500 million in damages.

Earlier on Monday (March 1), a joint venture between Bangabandhu Parishad New Jersey and Pennsylvania held a protest rally at Maryland House to protest the conspiracy of the conspiratorial media Al Jazeera. Honorable President of the United States Branch of Bangabandhu Parishad, politician and lawyer Dr. Rabbi Alam was present as the chief guest at the protest meeting. Many leaders and activists led by Pennsylvania State Convener Md. Abdul Hai and Member Secretary Md. Ali took part in the protest meeting. Leaders and activists led by New Jersey State Convener Md. Shaheen and Member Secretary Md. Ali Noor took part in the discussion.
The chief guest said. Rabbi Alam said that at present the defeated forces of 1971 have been involved in international conspiracies against the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina with the help of foreign powers to undermine the development trend of Bangladesh. Therefore, the pro-independence forces must resist this defeated force in unison. The United States Bangabandhu Parishad is determined to work in the future to thwart their conspiracy. He said he filed a defamation suit against Al Jazeera, a conspiratorial media outlet, in federal court in Michigan on February 23. The lawsuit alleges $ 500 million in damages. He mentioned that a press conference was held in New York on the evening of March 1.
