Noman Ibne Sabit: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will visit New York in the third week of September to attend the 77th General Session of the UN General Assembly, the United Nations. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will address the expatriates at the civic reception organized by the United States Awami League on Saturday, September 24.
The 77th General Session of the United Nations is starting on Tuesday, September 13. The UN high-level general debate will begin on September 20. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s arrival in New York has not yet been finalized. However, she is expected to arrive in New York on September 17 or 18.
Meanwhile, after the recent meeting with the leaders of US Awami League in Dhaka, the Prime Minister has assured the leaders and activists that like last year, she will address the expatriates at the virtual civic reception organized by US Awami League in New York (Saturday, September 24). President of the Awami League Dr. Siddiqur Rahman and Acting General Secretary Abdus Samad Azad confirmed this. After hearing the news of the virtual civic reception, the Awami League leaders and activists of various states including the United States Awami League are disappointed. They are eager to see Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in person. For the last 2 years, the leaders and activists are somewhat disappointed that the Prime Minister has not been seen in person. Therefore, the Bangladeshis living in the United States, including the leaders and activists of Awami League and organizations, have demanded to see Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in person at this year’s civic reception.
