Staff Reporter: Two former members of Federation of Bangladeshi Associations in North America (Fobana) have been expelled from their respective posts for life for their involvement in anti-organizational activities. In the general meeting of Fobana held on the last day of the 36th Fobana conference held this year, the decision to expel the two former members of Fobana, from Fobana was unanimously adopted. The ousted are Zakaria Chowdhury of New York and Rafiq Khan of Houston Texas. This information was informed in a press release signed by the current Chairperson of Fobana Dr. Ahsan Chowdhury Hero and Executive Secretary Nahidul Khan.
According to the notification, the members present in the general meeting took the decision to expel them from Fobana for life for their involvement in abominable activities such as anti-constitutional activities of Fobana, tarnishing the reputation of Fobana, and using a large association like Fobana for their own interests.
The representatives of 62 organizations belonging to Fobana from different cities of North America participated in the general meeting on September 4. All the participating delegates condemned the despicable act of the duo and unanimously demanded their lifelong ban. Based on the demands of all present, the final decision of lifetime expulsion from New York’s Zakaria Chowdhury and Houston Texas’ Rafiq Khan Fobana was adopted unanimously in the general meeting.
