Staff Reporter: Two organizations from Texas have been expelled for allegedly engaging in anti-constitutional and harmful activities of the Executive Committee of the Federation of Bangladeshi Associations in North America (FOBANA) in the United States. Fobana Chairman Dr. Ahsan Chowdhury (Hero) and Executive Secretary Nahidul Khan (Sahel) gave this information in a press release last Sunday (August 6).
The press release mentioned that since its inception and establishment in 1987, Fobana has come under attack many times and we have no doubt that it will continue to do so in the future. There was, is and will be an attempt to destroy any beautiful and noble creation.
Over the years, various individuals and groups have tried to use Phobana for personal gain and as a stepping stone to social and political establishment, some have succeeded or not. On July 24, 2023, the Executive Committee of Fobana expelled the two organizations for engaging in activities that were unconstitutional and harmful to
Fobana. The two organizations are respectively: Bangladesh American Women Association of Texas and United Bangladesh American Community of Texas.
They mentioned that after being expelled, they have started spreading propaganda against Fobana.
The Central Committee of Fobana has drawn the attention of all North American expatriate Bangladeshis and all concerned with Fobana and requested them not to be misled by any kind of misinformation about the world’s largest expatriate Bangladeshi organization Fobana and its central committee leaders.
Fobana authorities are determined to maintain
Fobana’s mainstreaming progress. Various organizations bearing the name ‘Fobana’ have come and gone in the past and contemporary times but the core Fobana has always remained intact and will remain. The Central Committee of Fobana is working tirelessly to make Fobana technologically fit for the 21st century and expands its activities globally. Fobana used to publish warning news and news circulars in newspapers and magazines so that no dishonest group could succeed in their nefarious efforts by creating confusion in the society. The Fobana conference will be held in Dallas on September 1, 2 and 3 this year and in Washington DC in 2024.
Fobana authorities have invited everyone to attend the gathering of these expatriate Bangladeshis.
