Chhabed Sathee: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina extended warm greetings to all the participants of the 37th Federation of Bangladeshi Associations of North America (FOBANA) conference to be held in Dallas, Texas, USA on September 1-3. She said that Fobana has been capturing the history, culture and traditions of Motherland Bangladesh for 37 years in North America. Fobana officials will maintain its continuity in the future.
In a congratulatory message, the Prime Minister said, the greatest Bengali of all time, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman spent his entire life leading our freedom struggle and independence war. He made us a victorious nation and created opportunities to work in the world with self-respect and dignity. In a short period of only three years and seven months and three days, he achieved remarkable success by laying the foundations of almost all the institutions of state industry. Economic progress of a nascent nation. After the heinous assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the progress of the country stopped for 21 years under the rule of military dictators and their allies.
During the 1996-2001 term, Bangladesh witnessed an unprecedented golden era regarding socio-economic growth and development. We also have achieved significant progress in every sector in the last 14 and half years since the formation of the government in 2009. We have already transformed the country into ‘Digital Bangladesh’ and fulfilled all criteria to be a developing country now, Bangladesh is set to become a developed country by emerging as ‘Smart Bangladesh’ by 2041.
We gratefully recognize the fundamental role of non-resident Bangladeshis in our government’s ongoing development stride. Over the past 37 years, Fobana has been upholding the history, culture and heritage of our beloved motherland Bangladesh in North America. Texas has become a home to a significant number of NRB’s who are also continuously building the image of our country in the United States. I feel happy that the 37th Fobana convention will take place in this city. I note with satisfaction that each year, Fobana organizes a convention in North America to promote Bangladesh through organizing colorful events, seminars and workshops . This organization has also been encouraging the youth in social, cultural, educational, scientific and charitable activities.
I believe Fobana will continue to brand Bangladesh as a land of peace, prosperity,harmony, social justice, and opportunity in North America in the days to come.
In a separate message, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen extended his best wishes to all the participants of the 37th Federation of Bangladeshi Associations of North America (FOBANA) Conference to be held in Dallas, Texas on September 1-3.
