Staff Reporter: Hafiza Karim (72), mother of US expat singer Kousholy Ema and mother-in-law of journalist Chhabed Sathee passed away (to Allah we belong and surely to Him we return) on Thursday (November 23). She was suffering from diabetes, dementia and chronic kidney problems for a long time. On Thursday (November 23) around 6:30 am US time (5:30 pm Bangladesh time) she died while undergoing treatment at Uttara Adhunik Hospital in the capital Dhaka.
Hafiza Karim was the wife of late engineer Abdul Karim of Parbatipur, Dinajpur. They are survived by two sons, engineer Harisul Alam Lovelu and businessman Manja-e Arzu Liton), four daughters Niharika Lubna Parveen (LB), American expat singer Kousholy Ema, Kaberi Eva Parvin (Annie) and Kamrun Ila Parvin (Camelia) and numerous relatives including grandchildren left behind.
The deceased will be Nama e Janaza in the family graveyard at Rahmat Nagar, Parbatipur, Dinajpur tomorrow, Friday (November 24) after juma prayer.
Her family has asked for prayers from everyone in the country and abroad.
