Staff Reporter: Anthony Fauci, the country’s top infectious disease specialist, hopes to bring the corona epidemic under control by early 2022. If the remaining 80 to 90 million people are vaccinated and the corona vaccine is fully approved to run a larger vaccination program, the epidemic could be brought under control by early next year.
Fouci made the remarks in a televised interview on Tuesday, the day after the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) received full approval for the coronavirus vaccine made by Pfizer-Bioentech. With Pfizer’s vaccine fully approved, there is now an opportunity to bring more people under the vaccine. Moderna and Johnson & Johnson’s Corona vaccine is expected to receive full approval soon. Permission to vaccinate children in the coming autumn may also be matched.
In an interview with NBC News’ Today, Fouchi said, If we can vaccinate a large part of the 80 or 90 million people who are still unvaccinated, who are not interested in getting vaccinated or are not getting the chance, I believe that in the end we will I will see the light of hope. We can change that.
He told MSNBC that his idea was to get the full FDA approval in a relatively short period of time. Maybe in a few weeks or a month it will be done. Fauci believes that the approval of Pfizer and Modern vaccines for minors will be matched before the start of the holiday season at the end of the year.
He told NBC News that it could happen at the end of autumn or the beginning of winter.
If we get approval in the winter, and we can vaccinate most of the 90 million people who have not yet been vaccinated, I believe we will have better control of the situation in the spring of 2022, he told CNN in an analysis. Fauci’s message of hope has been a source of frustration for President Joe Biden, who took office earlier this year with the goal of ending the epidemic.
Now if he has to wait until next spring for the epidemic to come under control, he will have to go through many more political and economic hurdles until the US midterm elections. Biden set out the best possible plan for the congressional election in November next year in the guise of winning the epidemic and boosting the economy. But if Fauci’s words are true, his plans could be in jeopardy.
