Staff Reporter: In the case of family-sponsored immigrants, a bill may be passed in the House of Representatives that would require applicants’ dependents to obtain a green card while in the United States. It has been speculated that the per persons fee may be set at $ 2,500. The billing process has just begun. If the bill is passed, millions of illegal immigrants will be able to take advantage of the process.
Four categories of immigrants will be given priority to get a green card in the bill. They are: those who came to the United States as children, those who have worked in the United States since January 2010, those who were in temporary protected status in January 2017, and those who were under Deferred Enforced Departure on January 20, 2021. According to preliminary estimates, the passage of the bill will give about 7 million immigrants a chance to gain legitimacy. Those staying in the United States on non-immigrant visas will also be able to take advantage of this process.
