34 Districts Continue to Suffer Mild Heatwave Conditions
Bangla Press Desk: A mild heatwave is continuing over 34 districts of the country and may persist, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said in its latest 24-hour weather forecast issued from 9:00am on Monday.
According to the forecast, there is no significant change expected in daytime and nighttime temperatures across the country.
The BMD said a mild heatwave is currently sweeping over parts of Dhaka, Tangail, Narsingdi, Mymensingh, Chandpur, Lakshmipur, Brahmanbaria and Patuakhali, as well as over the Rajshahi, Rangpur and Khulna divisions. The condition may continue in these areas.
The Met Office further noted that overall temperatures across the country are likely to remain nearly unchanged.
Regarding rainfall, the forecast said a western trough of low pressure extending from West Bengal to the northern Bay of Bengal is currently active.
Under its influence, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds and lightning flashes are likely at a few places in the Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, and at isolated locations in Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna and Barishal divisions.
