Aduane President Mansur, Secretary Sabrina in Boston

Staff Reporter: A new committee of the Association of Dhaka University Alumni of the Northeast (Aduane) was formed in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. Dhaka University's former students formed the committee through a discussion in a restaurant in Cambridge, a city near Boston. In the committee formed with the aim of presenting the heritage and history of Dhaka University to the world, Dr. Syed A Mansur President, Dr. Mahmuda Islam Vice President, Sabrina Farah General Secretary, Syed A Salam (Shilu) Joint General Secretary, Kawsarul Haque Organizing Secretary, Sharif Ahmed Tresurer, Dr. Mahfuza Malik Education Affairs Secretary, Bidisha Dewanjee Cultural Secretary, Tamjid SM Alumni Networking Secretary, Rownak Afroz Foreign Affairs Secretary and Mir Fazlul Karim Media Secretary. In 2011, Dhaka University Alumni Association of New England (Duane) was founded by a number of former students of Dhaka University in Boston. Several years ago, after running this organization called Duane, the members got involved in a leadership conflict. Complaints are exchanged between the two groups. Allegations of irregularities, arbitrariness and abuse of power arose with Duane's committee. To avoid conflict, the members of this committee formed a new organization called Association of Dhaka University Alumni of the Northeast (Aduane). BP/SM
