AL president beat shoes his secretary in Boston
Staff Reporter: The general secretary of a group of New England Awami League and an alleged former Shibir worker were beat shoes by the president of the same group of the party for being involved in anti-Bangladesh government activities in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. The incident happened at a fast food restaurant in Cambridge on Wednesday (July 24) local time. According to multiple sources of Boston Awami League, BNP and Jamaat workers held several protest rallies in Cambridge's Harvard Square last week in solidarity with the ongoing quota agitation students in Bangladesh. The leaders and activists of Boston's ruling party Awami League took the initiative of a protest rally against the violence of Jamaat-BNP. When Yusuf Chowdhury, the self-proclaimed president and freedom fighter of a bifurcated New England Awami League group, contacted former shibir worker and general secretary of his group Iqbal Yusuf who had infiltrated his group to arrange a protest rally, Iqbal told him that he was out of the state of Massachusetts and would take several days to return. On the same day, Yusuf Chowdhury received information from a secret source that Iqbal was discussing with some local BNP and Jamaat workers at Dunkin Donut, a fast food restaurant in Cambridge. He rushed to the spot. He went there and saw several people including Iqbal. As per the pre-planned Yusuf beat shibir worker Iqbal with his shoe. The next day the incident became known among the expatriates of Boston. Yusuf Chowdhury had been leading a group of the New England Awami League for a long time along with Iqbal Yusuf, a former shibir worker who infiltrated the Awami League. He made Iqbal the general secretary. Despite repeated warnings to remove the shibir worker from his group, he didn't take any no action. Even after a long time, he himself finally unveiled the mask of the former shibir worker who infiltrated the Awami League last Wednesday. BP/SM
