Anonna delighted in women's progress before China PR clash

Bangla Press Desk:  Bangladesh women's national football team assistant coach, Mahmuda Akter Anonna, expressed satisfaction with the team’s progress as the Bengal Tigresses continued their preparations in Sydney on Friday.

“Alhamdulillah, yesterday (on Thursday) was a recovery session. We had swimming and stretching. Overall, it was good,” the assistant coach said. “Today (on Friday) at the training ground, everyone performed well. The weather is a mix of sun and rain, but we are trying to adapt and continue our training.”

Despite steady rain and cool conditions, the players maintained high intensity throughout the 90-minute session. Activities included warm-up routines, technical drills, and possession-based exercises, before concluding with a competitive 20-minute 11v11 practice match.

“There aren’t many injuries in the team. For minor issues, the physiotherapist is working on recovery. Everyone is healthy and giving their best,” Anonna added.

The assistant coach also praised the facilities. “Such a beautiful field, and everything is so well-organized. The players liked the ground and even wished for more training time. We had the field for two hours, and everything was properly set, including ice and water.”

The medical team has confirmed there are no serious injuries in the squad as preparations continue for the upcoming fixture against the China PR women's national football team on 3 March 2026.

Following the session, the team checked into the AFC-allocated hotel in Parramatta. There was no gym session scheduled for the afternoon to allow additional recovery time.

The team will resume training at Jubilee Stadium on Saturday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am as they intensify preparations for the crucial encounter.Source: daily Sun
