Bangladesh aim for 4th qualifier title, says Rabeya
Bangla Press Desk: Bangladesh women’s all-rounder Rabeya Khan has made it clear that the Tigresses have arrived at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers with only one goal: to lift the title for the fourth time, ahead of their Super Six clash against Scotland on Thursday.
Sending a video message to fans via the internet, Rabeya talked about their mission,
“We will play against Scotland, but our mindset is very clear. We have come here from Bangladesh to become champions,” the 20-year-old said. “So we will not consider any team small. We will continue to follow our process.”
Bangladesh women will face Scotland Women at 9:15 AM Bangladesh time at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur as they chase their fourth Qualifiers title. The Tigresses previously lifted the trophy in 2018 against Ireland by 25 runs, in 2019 against Thailand by 70 runs, and again in 2022 with a seven-run victory over Ireland.
The leg-spinner also expressed satisfaction with the team’s dominant campaign so far and confirmed their place in the World Cup.
“Alhamdulillah, I am very happy,” Rabeya said. “These qualifiers were challenging because there was always uncertainty about what would happen. But we managed to win five matches convincingly and confirm our World Cup spot. We are all very happy and confident going forward.”
