Bangladesh Ansar & VDP clinched men’s and women’s titles
  Bangla Press Desk:   Bangladesh Ansar and VDP emerged champions in both the men’s and women’s categories of the Mercantile Bank 8th National Kho Kho Competition. They proved their dominance by defeating Chittagong district by 8 points in the men’s category and Nilphamari district by 1 point in the women’s category in a highly competitive match. The National Kho Kho Competition 2025 started at Paltan Maidan, Dhaka, on Friday and a total of 24 district teams, including Bangladesh Ansar, participated in this three-day-long competition. On Saturday, Bangladesh Ansar defeated Gazipur district team in the first semifinal of the women’s competition and sealed their position in the final. In the second semifinal, Nilphamari district team defeated Jashore district team to reach the final.
In the men’s competition, Bangladesh Ansar defeated Nilphamari in the first semifinal and advanced to the final. In the second semifinal, the Chittagong district team defeated Bagerhat district team to reach the final. The third position was secured by Nilphamari district in the men’s competition and Gazipur district team in the women’s competition. Asim Kumar Saha, DMD of Mercantile Bank, attended the finals as the chief guest at Paltan Maidan on Sunday and handed over the prizes to the winners. The event was chaired by Bangladesh Kho Kho Federation president AHM Ziaul Haque, while general secretary Mir Kaysar Sadiq, tournament committee chairman Engineer Abdur Muktadir, and member secretary Motiur Rahman Babul of the federation were also present.
