"Bangladesh–Australia Test Schedule Officially Announced"
Bangla Press Desk: Bangladesh will return to Australian soil in August for a rare two-Test series, with fixtures confirmed in Darwin and Mackay as part of the World Test Championship cycle.
The opening Test will be staged at Marrara Stadium in Darwin from August 13-17, before the second moves to Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay from August 22-26. It marks Bangladesh’s first Test series against Australia since 2017.
This will be only the second time the Tigers contest a Test series in Australia, having previously toured in 2003. A scheduled meeting in Bangladesh in 2020 was scrapped due to Covid.
Darwin last hosted Bangladesh in 2003, while Mackay is set to stage its maiden Test. Both venues featured in Australia’s white-ball Top End series last year.
The series launches Australia’s busy WTC stretch, but for Bangladesh, it represents a significant opportunity to challenge one of cricket’s traditional powerhouses on their own turf.
