Bangladesh brace for Vietnam test ahead of Singapore qualifier
Bangla Press Desk: Bangladesh are set for a stern examination against Vietnam as head coach Javier Cabrera eyes the friendly as crucial preparation for their upcoming AFC Asian Cup qualifier against Singapore.
“Our main objective is to prepare for the upcoming official match against Singapore. Facing Vietnam is very important for us, as they are one of the strongest teams in Southeast Asia. Playing against them will help build our confidence,” said Cabrera.The coach also acknowledged Vietnam’s strength, stating, “With the presence of Xuan Son, along with another Brazilian-origin player in the squad (Hoang Hen), Vietnam have a very strong lineup. We hope Bangladesh will be able to face Vietnam’s strongest possible team.”
Cabrera provided an update on Hamza, adding, “Hamza only arrived yesterday afternoon. He is doing well, but needs time to adjust to the weather and time zone. We will assess and consider his availability for the match.”
Captain Jamal Bhuyan remained optimistic despite the challenge.
“It will be a difficult match, but Bangladesh are improving. We believe we have the ability to compete with Vietnam,” he said.
