Bangladesh Deliver Under Pressure, Reach Last Four Stage

Bangla Press Desk:  Bangladesh pulled off a sensational five-set comeback against Sri Lanka in Islamabad to secure a place in the semi-finals of the CAVA Men’s Volleyball Championship, maintaining their push for a spot in the final.

Facing elimination from top-four contention after dropping the opening two sets, the red-and-green outfit staged a remarkable revival to claim the final three sets unanswered.

The dramatic 3-2 triumph capped off a dominant group-stage run, yielding four wins from five matches and keeping their championship ambitions firmly alive ahead of the 29 July final.

With their campaign effectively on the line, Bangladesh had zero margin for error after Sri Lanka seized early control of Monday's contest.

As their semi-final hopes began to fade, Bangladesh produced an astounding display of grit and collective composure, writing an unbelievable turnaround script by sweeping the remaining three sets to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

The win was a fitting climax to a campaign that required genuine character throughout. 

Bangladesh opened their tournament with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Uzbekistan before suffering a brief setback in a straight-sets loss to hosts Pakistan.

But, they regained momentum with convincing back-to-back victories over Kazakhstan and Nepal, setting up the thrilling decider against Sri Lanka.

Having successfully navigated the round-robin stage with four wins from five outings, Bangladesh return to the court Tuesday for their semi-final clash, standing just one win away from a place in the championship final.
