Bangla Press Desk: Despite travelling to the Asia Cup World Ranking Tournament (Stage-1) in Bangkok, Thailand with high expectations, Bangladesh failed to reach the semi-finals in any individual or mixed events.
However, the disappointment was offset by a grand performance in the compound men’s team event, where the nation secured a historic gold medal. In the final held on Friday, the Bangladeshi trio of Himu Bachhar, Rakib Nawaz and Aishwarzo Rahman delivered an impressive display to defeat a strong Vietnamese side by 231–225 points.
The archers maintained remarkable composure and precision throughout the contest, ultimately sealing victory with a six-point margin.
Bangladesh had reached the final only in this event, making full use of the opportunity to stand atop the podium.
Their gold-winning effort marked the country’s most significant achievement in the tournament.
Historically, Bangladesh’s major successes in archery have come in the recurve discipline.
However, the federation’s recent focus on the compound division has begun to yield results, as evidenced by this triumph.
