Bangladesh lost despite setting a record.

Bangla Press Desk: The Bangladesh women's cricket team is struggling in their first-ever ODI series on Australian soil. The visiting team has lost the series following two consecutive defeats.
Despite setting a record during today's second match, Bangladesh could not secure a win. Hosts Australia clinched the series with a commanding nine-wicket victory.
On Sunday in Brisbane, Australia, Bangladesh batted first and scored 220 runs for the loss of six wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Chasing the target, Australia reached victory with nine wickets and 131 balls to spare.
The two teams combined for a total of 442 runs in the match—a record high for an ODI involving both sides. Furthermore, Sobhana Mostary set a record by scoring 72 runs in boundaries alone during the game.
She scored 118 runs off 134 balls, hitting 18 boundaries. This stands as the highest individual score by a Bangladesh women's player in ODI cricket. In achieving this top score, Mostary set the record for the most runs scored via boundaries (72).
Additionally, Sobhana Mostary and Nigar Sultana forged a record-breaking partnership of 195 runs for the fourth wicket—the highest partnership for any wicket for the Bangladesh women's team. Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana scored 72 runs off 114 balls, including seven boundaries. Farzana Hoque Pinky was dismissed for a duck in this match, marking the 18th time she has recorded this unwanted feat in ODIs.
Despite these record-breaking performances, the team could not avoid defeat.
Chasing the target, the Australian hosts unleashed a batting onslaught right from the start of the innings. Openers Georgia Voll and Phoebe Litchfield put together 162 runs in just 19.5 overs. Georgia Voll played an impeccable unbeaten innings of 131 runs off 97 balls, featuring 19 boundaries. Litchfield scored 70 runs off 51 balls—hitting 11 fours and a six—before getting out. Opener Georgia Voll then sealed the victory alongside Ellyse Perry.
