Bangladesh opt to bat in Mushfiqur’s 100th Test
Bangla Press Desk: Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat in the second and final Test of the two-match series against Ireland at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Wednesday — a landmark occasion as Mushfiqur Rahim becomes the first Bangladeshi cricketer to feature in 100 Test matches.
On a grassy surface in Mirpur, the hosts made two changes to their pace attack, bringing in Khaled Ahmed and Ebadot Hossain in place of Hasan Mahmud and Nahid Rana, who played in the opening Test in Sylhet.
The spin unit remains unchanged, with Taijul Islam, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Hasan Murad retained for the contest.
Bangladesh XI:
Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Shadman Islam, Mominul Haque, Najmul Hossain Shanto (capt), Mushfiqur Rahim, Litton Das (wk), Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taijul Islam, Ebadot Hossain, Khaled Ahmed, Hasan Murad
